Id not gotten around to doing one of my famous tune jobs on the fixie--as I usually wait till the factory build starts wobbling a couple mms--which never happened. The things were within a mm true from side to side, and had 2mm variances in vertical true.
Fixed the vertical true, then the lateral true--making sure I had perfectly equal spoke tension by listening to plucked spokes, then brought up front and rear tension by an entire turn, destressed to unwind the spokes and seat them in the flanges, then a final whisper of a true. Within 0.3mm of vertical and 0.2mm lateral true. Good enough.
36 Sapim spokes with double wall eyeleted rims and no dish front and rear--I think theyre good for the next ten years at least.
IRC Tandems at 75psi are the business for curb hopping, btw.
