How old must a car be to qualify for classic insurance these days?

Any recommended companies?

thanks

Think it depends on the company? Adrian Flux seem to have classic insurance on cars as young as five years. Presumably not a five year old fiesta though.

I always thought it was 25, which means early Mk 1 MR2s would count from next year. Need me an MR2.
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo… Again.

I would guess it depends on the car rather than the age....

some cars are instant classic IMO, while others dont become a classic until quite a few years later.

So what makes an instant classic when the car is 5 years old or so?
