Snell, Categorised as a Super Mini, nice motor, drove them back in the days i worked for toyota, but seriously they are very cramped for me, no space to move found it hard to get my legs under the steering then using the wheel was a bit hard

306 GTI / 306 Rallye ? Im selling a 307XSI
think about the fact that Peugeot didnt make a GTI in the 307 so thats why i went for the XSI and i kind of want to steer away from french cars again, i prefer german or jap but within reason, really dont want to remortgage a house to pay for repairs/servicing
Also would prefer not to go backwards, 307 to 306 isnt a good decision for me
Ok lets look at some figures:
306 GTI-6: 167bhp / 8.5s 0-60
306 Rallye: 167bhp / 8.5s 0-60
307 XSI: 138bhp / 8.9s 0-60
A3 T Sport 3dr: 147bhp / 7.9s 0-60
Golf GTI T 3dr: 150bhp / 8.2s 0-60
Civic 1.6vti 3dr: 157bhp / 7.7s 0-60
Judging by the money im spending i think perhaps i will have probs finding a decent A3, but the Golf is a fine contender, ive owned the same engine before and know that various places can offer the remap / tuning deal for about £450 to increase to around 190+bhp afaik so its a simple upgrade if i wanted some more power.
The reason i started to consider japs is because Honda have the great belief of producing engines that produce 100bhp per litre which is great, however im wondering if modifying will produce the same end effects as a turbo engine i.e. £s spent x increase in bhp, and whether the figures will work out better if i went for a turbo motor.
Also, the Golf / A3 / Civic are classed as Small Family vehicles, the GS / Mercs are bigger more luxury cars, but the Golf etc dont fall into that category.
Also i have considered such cars as the Supra 3l non turbo, it produces over 200 bhp, has a nice 0-60, but they never released a non turbo in the uk, so it would have to be an import, i was quoted by my insurance company for one and it was about £60 more per year than the golf, which isnt to bad, however im not certain on servicing costs and what can go wrong that will be expensive to repair so ill look into that a bit more for now,
