New Bike...
on: April 27, 2013, 21:44:51 PM
This weekend I bought a new bike.

It's the bike I have always wanted, the bike that got me interested in motorcycling (purely because I thought it looked amazing).

Its a 2005 Honda CBR1000RR in Repsol livery. I wanted one that was as low mileage and unmolested as I could get.

Spotted one on autotrader Wednesday night and got a deposit down over the phone Thursday morning.

Today after 4 hours and 240 mile round trip I completed the transaction.

Its mint, less than 5500 miles on the clock, 1 owner from new and only a couple of very slight mods which I would have done anyway. Pair of new tyres, 12 months MOT and some tax left on it to :D

Just waiting on delivery now, hopefully have it by the end of the week :D

Snap from the advert better pictures once it arrives :D

Looks awesome mate, thats going to take some getting used to from a 600f.
I've been looking at the cbr929rr as a track bike recently, love the fireblades.

Certainly is, going to be taking it very very carefully.

Be careful with the crash bobbins. They can bend the frame if you come off it.
Looks nice though.

Only thing I don't like about these is that they made the 125 look so similar.

I had the 125 version lol it was tiny compared to a 600.. which again feels small compared to the 1000

First ride today, dodged the showers. Couple of hours nearly 100 miles.

OMG its epic!   :ptu:  :w00t:

My neck, shoulders and wrists aren't used to the position yet but think they will get there after a few rides, my hands and wrists are particularly bad as I'm gripping the bars too tightly.

The brakes are ferocious! Barely cracked the throttle open on it really but enough to get the feeling its going to be crazy fast.

Despite all that though its surprisingly easy to ride.
