Maybe. Maybe Im just a nicer person than to think - despite the guy being utter womens bits for pulling out - that I should ram him and his car, possibly causing damage, pain, suffering, injuring their family if they are in the car, etc. when I could avoid hitting anything instead.

Well youve learnt your lesson with renaults yes?

For ~£1000 Id be looking at Vauxhall/Ford and similar range.  Can pick up 2000 Veccy for that much now.

Let me put it another way, woman driving in her car, another car pulls out. She swerves to avoid, mounts the pavement and kills three schoolkids.

Theyre in a car and should be fastened in, personal damage will be minimal and they can claim on their insurance for it.

It was their fault, but if youre a willing and happy to pay for it when you werent responsible.

Not much you can do with the 0.1 second you have to react though, hardly time for debate  -)  you just do what you thinks best given the scenario.

Nige did what he thought was best at the time, maybe he was wrong, maybe he was right, the only person who knows is Nige.

With this said the debate around hitting someone from behind is an interesting one, but I dont think Nige has a time machine :mutley:

Indeed.

Even with retrospectovision, Im still rather happy to see that foul French piece of sh*t off the road. If only all Renaults had kerb magnets...

So far choices have been whittled down to Audi TDis, BMW TDs and Fords (along with the occasional glimpse of an MX-5, but I keep slapping my wrists and remembering the economy of them). Im going to have to be quick/lucky to catch bargain under 1.5k though.

We had a Renault 25 2.2 i think it was a GTX or something, to much the same situation it got hit by a car coming out of a side road, chassis got bent, car was written off, 2 months later we got a phonecall asking stuff about the car, it seems someone bought the car and had put it back on the road....

good cars, only common problems on those is the front suspension but its not that expensive to fix.

Not a good sign to see RS badges and after market alloys, could mean its been thrashed but those engine take it well if they are warm and oil changed regularly.
