RIP Dan Wheldon

Great British sportsman you may have never heard of.
Died in a recent Indy Car Race.
To many cars on the track in these races. When a crash happens it always happens in a big way. It is like the start of F1 in the sense of cars to track space ratio but for just about the whole race.

Its a terrible accident and a massive loss. RIP.

220mph with open wheels in a tight oval with concrete walls everywhere is never going to end well, it is a miracle that more people weren't killed in the accident.

And all the cars, from what I have seen lots have had concerns over the amount of cars, especially this season. NASCAR has a lot but you at least have more car around you.

LOL they look like a flimsey shell around a tube frame to me, and they also still catch fire pretty easy, nascar is just as insane IMO

They have been doing this and having crashes for years, reckon this is only big news because a brit died this time.

Partly UK wise but not globally. Reason is that at the start of the season, drivers and others raised concerns about the numbers on tract this season. You can find videos on web of drivers actually saying someone will get killed in a big crash. It took all season, but it happened.
