Sneak preview as I go into the last week of the build (Few delays along the way!)

Well, turbo is finally on after I spent some time modifying the crappy adapter plate - I welded a smoothed 90 degree 40mm tube on with a wastegate flange as well to clear the exhaust manifold.

I shortened the adapter by almost a full inch, and rebored the exit for the wastegate. Its now as thin, or thinner than the ats one.

I cut the turbo discharge off the bought downpipe, and welded on a v-band. I also welded an extension of 50mm into it in order to make my berk exhaust fit properly again. Ive plasma cut (Courtesy of my new plasma cutter!!) a support to the engine for the downpipe as well, using 2 bolts rather than the usual 1.

Anyway, heres the downpipe and bracket - still need to get proper bolts in the wastegate and put the cabin heat shield back on the passenger side

On monday Im going to finish the bed for my intercooler to go in the boot - I made it for £5 - sheet of galvanised steel that I plasma cut and welded into a box with a 1inch inside lip. Ill get all the installed pics up Mon hopefully - took 2 days off work to finish! Not posting pics of the fuel system yet, as its a mess!

tight isnt the word for it! That compressor housing is so big I had to modify the clutch slave cylinder so the pipes entered underneath rather than up top. I also had to move fuel lines, water hoses and batter the passenger side heat shield in to shape.

on a side note.... whats the plasma cutter like ?

Ive got a fair bit of 2 mil stainless steel (graid 316, the good stuff) to cut at work in a few weeks and was thinking of getting one.... need a new mig too after mine went bang :(

I was thinking of trying ebay and getting a proper profesional one (big bottle etc..)  dont want to spend much on it as it will hardly be used tbh.

Show us a pic if you can, as interesting as the engine stuff.
