Trying to find a Lada Samara 1.3SX left hand side wing mirror (1997 model)... anyone know of anyone with one? or know where is probably the best place to look?

Not dealt with breakers yards before, but reckon its a part Id find there?

Yeah, get down the scrappy. Some you go in with a bunch of tools and a big empty toolbox and some the bloke gets the bit for you.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Cheers filbert, Ive put a quote request in. Just hope I dont get spammed to hell and back.

Sdp, how do breakers yards work in person? is it a case of walk in... find your part, take it, and pay for it? or do you have to ask or something before you turn up?

tell them what youre looking for on the way in, theyll point you in the right direction of the car/cars with the bits you want, then you help yourself and pay on the way out :)

if youre not happy taking it off yourself you can ask them to do it and theyll just stick an extra few quid on.... but if youre not confident in taking it off, then its IS a good idea to do it, because itll teach you how to fit it on your car ;) so you might as well go and try... and if you break it you can just bugger off and leave it ;)

Cheers knighty, from what I understand its just 3 bolts and possibly a bit of plastic that will need removing to fit/remove a wing mirror so hopefully its a DIY job :) If I can find the part quite cheaply then thatd be awesome! :D

Yeah what knighty said, and just give them a call in your local area www.yell.com and ask them :)

Is there a Lada owners club? or Samara owners club ?

Is it the wing mirror you need or just the glass? Halfrauds do glass replacements for wing mirrors too

I think the glass is in fact made of carbon steel because my mum basically twatted the wingmirror on the garage wall whilst reversing, and bent it back against the windscreen basically, yet the glass is perfectly intact.

The wingmirror is still attached just floppy and held on only by the stub that comes through the car to adjust it. :(
