Just make sure the Speedtouch is unplugged for half and hour, then plug the netgear in.  Instant IP address.  Ive not cloned the MAC off my speedtouch, and the netgear works perfectly.  Just need to let the DHCP lease run out.

Yes.

ADSL2+ can achieve far higher rates than ADSL2

PcWorld :: £82.99 all in, comes with Netgears 3 year warranty.  I suppose youre only paying for the extra warranty in some respects, but youre also paying for netgear to replace the router if the N-Spec changes.  The extra £14 is worth it in my opinion.  I looked at them on ebay, but I decided I wanted the warranty.

I thought the DG834N & the "N" range of routers were still in the "draft" stage and not recommended to go for them yet? Also to achieve the 270MB speeds you would really need to have your adapter which your computer is connected to, really close to the router as the highest speeds are not always achievable.

Correct, they are in draft stages, but Netgear have a guarantee on their website that states anything they release that is N-Draft Spec will be N-Spec as its released.  If it isnt theyll swap it out for free.  I think Linksys have the same thing.  The 834N I have stomped all over next doors Airport, I did that on purpose, they kept over-writing my wireless signal!

You can find the O2/Be MAC address usually at the back/bottom of the router.

its the netgear warranty.  Obviously the 1st year you take it back to the shop, after that just stick it in the post with an RMA number.

Just curious. I remember finding somewhere on the forums something that allowed you to see what the max speed you could get in your area was. Anyone care to point me in the right direction?

Were currently paying through our teeth for Nildram, so swapping to even the premium O2 service would be saving a heck of a lot, but I have a feeling we are that far away from our exchange we will only be able to get a max of 8mbps anyway :(

SamKnows, then click on "Mapping Engine" halfway down the page.

Though its not 100% accurate.  According to them I cant get over 8.5Mb, but im getting 13.7.
