Looks like a bad year for music.  Unless Coldplay can do an album anywhere near as good as their first.

Keanes 3rd album (late 2008) <- gay
Coldplays 4th (May) <- gay
Starsailors 4th (Summer) <- gay
Jack Bruces 20000th (Jan 08) <- hope it doesnt suck
Franz (early 2008)

For me i am waiting for the real tool album, Opeths new album (hopefully that wont suck as much as Ghost reveries), and also rage against the machines new one. it should also be a good year for jazz as well :)

Well teh round house tapes highlight their shortfall live :( however the live version of bleak is positively amazing, mikeal is writing a new one due for release in November next year which i am hoping wont suck as hard in the middle as the ghost reveries, they are saying its heavier than the last.

blatantly ripped off from his myspace

On top of that the album is now written and the demos sound fantastic! We will start recording it tomorrow actually! I dont wanna say too much but....gee, it is so f**king good!! If I may say so myself....Expected "delivery date" on this one is sometime in April/May 08.

On top of that (2)...my friends at PRS guitars and Laney decided  to give me some early Christmas gifts. I had a stunning PRS Hollowbody II delivered and its just awesome! Real ear and eye candy! And from Laney I got the new Lionheart mini stack which sounds beyond fantastic! That rig will be used quite a lot in the studio Im sure!

Mission: Impossible = Possible?

Thats the way I always feel facing a recording, but yes, were doing just fine.

Axe nailed the drums in 7 days which is just beyind me! The guy is amazing! He went up at 8 am every morning and started pounding the drums until 6-7 pm. Then he started practising again after dinner, we had to tell him to stop playing. Hes truly outdone himself. Listening to the drumtracks alone makes me wanna bang my f**king head, but my stale old-mans neck prevents me. Were recording a total of 11 songs, 3 of them are covers that were doing since we had some extra time, the rest are originals out of which I think well leave one off the album. Anyways, its already my favourite Opeth record, but Im a boasting c**t so...who cares?

The band is in terrific shape (musically that is...). Weve gone out for long walks which sounds like f**king senior behaviour, but its really nice clearing your mind for a while and talk about everyday stuff. We all cook for eachother, I do the dishes as usual. Gots to keep it sparkling clean! Its just a nice vibe down there...
Weve been drunk only once so far! Had some wine, a few beers and a metal music quiz.
Jens is doing fine, him and the 2 drumtechs (Peter and Urban) has fixed us a nice drumsound. Axe is endorsed by DW drums and they must be the greatest? I dont know but to me they sound just f**king fantastic!

Tomorrow well start setting the rhythm guitar sound and it will be exciting! Or something like that, maybe not that exciting after all....

Ive also recorded som vox for a friend of mine whos doing a solo album. Im not sure if I can say who it is yet, but I guess it might interest some of you guys.

Weve had great help from David Castillo as well, working with us after hours. Before our first break we worked from Thursday morning at 8 am until Friday morning at 5 am so our work ethic ís intact.

OK, just some info for ya! Hope is will well with you bastards!
Mike
