Amp for video input swtching?
on:

Im considering getting a TV and having it on my mantlepiece, downside would be visible cables (cant route them properly as its a rented house).
Are there home theatre amps that will take in a number of different video inputs (HDMI, component, scart etc) and switch between them, like they do audio inputs, outputting to a single video (hdmi) output? This would mean just 1 cable running to the screen from wherever I choose to hire away all my boxes.
To clarify I want to pug all my video inputs (DVD, Xbox, V+, WDTV etc) into the amp and then the amp into the TV then using the amp to choose the video input device.
Thanks all!

Youd struggle with the Scart socket, but Component, Composite and HDMI is easy.
Any modern AV amp will do this. Such as this
Sony
or this
Onkyo

Yes, I run everything through my Denon and have only a single HDMI up to the TV.

Looks good. Looks like most AV recievers have co-ax and hdmi inputs, so it shouldnt be a problem.
Very pleased. Just need to get cash together for a TV, reviever and speakers/sub. Could take a while ... unless I card it ...

I've caved and got the Onkyo TX-SR308.
Sounds very nice and balanced so far, even pushing a bit of Terminator through it last night. Not too boomy, picks out voices well.
Only problem is, I can't connect the Wii to it to do Analogue to HDMI, so I have to keep it plugged into the TV.
Not the end of the world.
