Aorus GTX 1080 Ti issue

My brother bought one, intending to put it in his computer. Problem 1 was it wouldn't fit, too long.
It would fit in my older case, which has a 850 watt XFX PSU, two 6+2 power leads should supply enough juice.
Problem 2, it boots to Bios screen then beeps. The single beep is supposed to be a memory issue.
Am I missing something obvious here?
Going to put in the old graphics card again tomorrow. See if it still works on that.

Turned out that, despite multiple attempts to reseat the memory, it was still the memory. Now working properly.
He's running Guild Wars 2 at 4K. Not the most demanding game but it should be able to run almost any other at 4K on ultimate settings.
