It is, but I get the feeling Im now mopping up the side quests before finishing the main story after what seems like maybe 1/3 of the time it took to get this far in FO3[/quote]
Im doing it in Hardcore mode + Hard difficulty setting so its taking some balls, planning and time! ;)

It seems the best feature of the new games is Dead Ops a top down shooter (Easter Egg)

It is messed up on the PC.
Online play and server lists is screwed and works sometimes if you leave it for half a century to populate.
Lags like hell even on decent machines Frame Rate wise because it is shoving everything at the CPU and hardly touching the graphics cards for some reason.
Patches coming apparently but a lot of people saying its crazy how they launched the PC version with so much jank.

After a couple of hours of online play last night I am pretty sure this game is going to last the test of time. Havent played single player yet. as the online play is for me, utterly fantastic. I am going to struggle to do anything constructive in the evenings for this week!

Only criticism so far is party play seems a bit awkward. I have so far been invited to three parties and not been able to connect. MW2 had a much better system, where party play was all dealt with on the PS3s home screen. Using an in-game menu feels a step backwards for me.

Its only going to last until they churn the next re-hash out :)

First update available!

This update apparently includes
    * Improved matchmaking to find matches significantly faster
    * Improved matchmaking to ensure that players are more effectively matched to games with the best networking conditions
    * Improved host selection to ensure that the best host is always selected in the pre-game lobby
    * Improved party system to ensure that parties don’t get broken apart
    * Disable ability to join Private Match, Combat Training and Theater lobbies when searching for Player Match games
    * Server-side and game-side changes to decrease the amount of failed Film uploads
    * Weekly and Monthly leaderboards will now track all kills, deaths and assists properly (All Time leaderboards were not affected by this)
    * Prevention of Combat Training stats getting crossed with Player Match stats under rare conditions
    * Prevention of temporary loss of functionality when a button was being held down at the point of a disconnect
    * Additional fine-tuning of audio levels and ranges for footsteps and gunfire
    * Additional fine-tuning of audio levels for bomb plants/defuses
    * Additional online security enhancements
    * Optimization to prevent friends list from spamming user while in game – will improve game performance for users with large numbers of friends

I should be able to stick in my party for more than 1 match at a time now!

loving this game, played the whole single player the day I bought it and played at least a couple of hours online each night since.

my favorite fps since CS1.5, shame there isnt a mouse and keyboard for the 360 as I am crap to be honest.

MP is good but the gay little bunnyhoppers are still there.  Aim-assist is also very much evident.  :disappointed:

Is there any way to guarantee getting an MP game without having console cheats involved i.e. PC only)?

how can you cheat on a console?

I think the update has f**ked somthing up, I just played about 10 games and 8 of them had all the best players on one side.

Its a piece of crap on the PS3 for me. One game in five will freeze the system completely.

Aim-assist?

That gives consolers a distinct advantage/cheat over mouse so never the twain should meet on a server.  I know a console user when Im shot by one.  Usually because theyve shot me in the head from 200m away while they barrel-roll or bunny-hop around a corner.  That kinda sh*t just isnt humanly possible without aim-assist.

Oh, by the way - silky glassy smooth (maxxed-out) on my four year-old rig (see sig).  :nana:

i wasnt aware it was mixing consoles and pc gamers...

i very rarely see aim assist and when i do its the red dot holoscope sight, which is supposed to aim assist.

tbh im not massively into this game. graphically, out of game its hands down better than predecessor, but in game it feels like vietnam did 5 or 6 years ago.

with GT5 out next week i just dont know if im going to be found playing something else on an evening.

Matt
