These will have more significance in the near future in terms of search bots and seo to define your content and target audience.

Coming back to this, the search engines are not going to suddenly start crapping all over the .co.uk / .com domains because they are not instantly identifiable with the type of business/media you operate within.

It may be beneficial to minor degree for a new website but long established sites using a .com or .co.uk wont suddenly start seeing their rank go down because of a plethora of new domains being available.

Id go so far as to say if I see a company operating under .biz I instantly assume they are a bit of a cowboy outfit in fact, a view not helped by some of our clients opting for such as domain. Its up there with lawyers4u type names

again, I agree with the .biz
it just rings untrustworthy

Its a huge mixed bag, tbh, the demand has been massive though but to be honest more than anything I think it just means more people out there are interested in taking a punt buying domains.

I managed from 11 pre orders to secure 1!

breaks.co

which I suppose could mean the breaks company, good for holidays maybe, we shall see how that one turns out  :gag:

Heres a question...which is better, or at least the least lame? www.muddy-boots.net or www.muddyboots.co

I own both, Ive been wanting to get away from the zpyder.co.uk domain for a while as Id like to have a *slightly* more professional domain for work and as a portfolio site. Its a PITA having to say "Its zed-pee-why-dee-eee-argh", and given that generally I am a practical fieldworker, muddyboots fits quite well without being uber boring or uber silly. Its annoying that the best versions are taken but seemingly inactive :(

I think the hyphen makes more of a difference Id say the get the .co in that instance. Id still buy whichever is cheaper though.

If Im being particularly pernickety then muddyboots.co sounds slightly quirkier and cuter than muddy-boots.net.

If you say muddybootsco without saying .co first, so just say muddybootsco, it sounds like youre the muddyboots corporation and makes sense, then say muddybootsDOTco is your address.

Or er, something like that  :gag:  :w00t:

As has been said, avoid hyphenation if possible. Also avoid bad spelling and very_quirky_names.com

Also make sure it somehow links with what the site is about, the stronger the link the better...

So youre selling boots to farmers? :heehaw:  :heehaw:
