Ex Mortis - Horror puzzle/point click game

Pretty good series of horror games. I remember playing #1 a few years back, maybe even whilst at college. It was pretty unique in the level of gore, and high quality sound, pretty freaky playing with headphones in a dark room at night.

Ex Mortis 1

And then last year, or 2 years ago, #2 was released.

It takes the award for being the first flash game that has given me nightmares. The night after I played it, I dreamt that it was post-apocalyptic and everyone was dead. Something about the back story/newspapers/setting makes this game pretty awesome.

And, on monday, #3 will be released. AFAIK the series is intended on being a trilogy, so hopefully itll wrap some things up. Also, since the guy made #1, he has become employed by a web studio, and so I think #3 has been professionally (sort of) produced, so quality should be even better.

Serious is what makes it a nightmare instead of a dream  :w00t:

Good stuff. Proper spooky. I think it fell down in both games where he tried to solve everything. Shoulda kept with just the MCs conflict instead of trying to fix everything at the end of each. But that was fun :)

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Bah, its gone commercial:

£12 :(

Cant blame em though, the production values did get pretty high on #2 imo, but I cant justify buying what is still essentially a flash browser game, even if it is 2x as long...

There is a demo available here:

Im in half a mind to pay for it. I mean, in the scheme of things its not too expensive, and I am getting the impression there might be a couple of hours gameplay at least, and part of me wants to support what has essentially been an indy project that has just become commercial. The demo is certainly impressive, but it looks a little non-linear in the sense of you will need to sit down and work your way through it, not a pick-up and play flash game!
