Got broadband with O2? This is worth a read!
on: February 23, 2011, 01:09:04 AM
I was all set to part with my cash and go on O2's Pro package for my new apartment, but it turned out that my exchange was locked to BT giving me few options. I settled on BT Infinity fibre for business (costly) and wondered if it was worth it and if I'd made the right decision, but reading the below I don't feel I did make a bad choice now:

Massive O2 broadband price hikes - beat them. In April O2 will hike prices by up to £50/year for home broadband users, even those within contracts. Yet act quick and you can leave without penalty

Of course, the whole telecomms industry is pathetic and needs a serious overhaul, but that's not going to happen.

another thing i have noticed with virgin is that it is cheaper to ring my parents in the day on my mobile phone than it is on my landline , to me it should be the other way around should it not ?

landline is dead :) I only have one because I have to, and only use it to call customer services as it's free!

With regards to O2. AFAICT even after the price hike O2 will still be the cheapest maximum/unlimited speed ADSL connection for O2 mobile customers.

Also as far as ISP reviews, I'm sure O2 are one of the top, so expect even so it may be worth the money, but good opportunity to get out of an existing contract and maybe re-sign for another deal, or BE which I think is basically O2 anyway?
