http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/10/12/bt_plusnet/

PlusNet confirmed to the City this morning that it is in talks which might lead to the sale of the business - with BT reportedly in pole position.

The broadband reseller said it had been forced to fess up because of unusual movements in its share price - which has gone up more than 25 per cent in the last two days.

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Carphone Warehouse will stick their oar in.  They bought AOL UK last week.

8 Mb - are you kidding? Half the time on ADSL Max it shrinks to under 400 kbps, even if you can occasionally get near 4 Mb. Still thats BTs fault, ironically.

What period? its free forever at least according to the advertising blurb.

Mind I wouldnt put it past them either, they are expected to spend 70 million on getting people set up and are expected to loose money in the short term.

the wording is "Free for the first 6 months, then no further charges after".  That is applicable for the 1st 12 months only.  "free" broadband using BT infrastructure it not sustainable, so i would assume the 25Gb limits will hit at 24 months after product launch.

In 16 months the contract will have run its course anyway and they will be after keeping people on board at that point so I doubt if there will be any changes, if there are excessive drops in service after that we can easily jump ship. Officially they supply it free for the first six months and then a a no cost item for as long as you keep paying the bill.
