Ended up biting the bullet and getting the 24" S2409W monitor.
Its just arrived and Ive just connected it up. Tis a bit of a beast!
:D
It actually turned out that my LG wasnt a 17" but a 19". The vertical size was 30", same as this monitor, but the extra width is extremely noticeable, and theres still a slight increase in vertical resolution so overall everything is a bit sharper
Being a bit of a noob when it comes to monitors (evidently) - is there a way of changing the system from reporting the monitor as a generic PnP device, to the actual make/model?
Also, how is the best way to calibrate the monitor. I keep reading how people find contrast etc to be a bit off out the box, but tbh I dont notice much difference. It would be good to actually calibrate this monitor properly so that the colours are right for when Im messing about with photography stuff etc?!
EDIT:
N/M about the Generic PnP thing, Ive managed to get it to install the proper drivers.
