I recognise about 40% of those...most of the pre-doom ones like Magic Pockets and Zool I think I was too young to know WTF was going on. What was the premise for Magic Pockets? All I can remember is your character played pocket billiards a load and his weapon was delving deep and bringing out things that looked like spinning blackberries to me.

On magic pockets you chould charge up your pocket and use the spinning whirly things it releases to capture enemies. I completed magic pockets a few times, but Gods was possibly the hardest game ever, I dont remember ever getting past the second level!

The original Delta Force, I remember having to buy an AMD K2-400Mhz just to play it.

Is that last one California Games? I was a BMX legend on that

Magic pockets there wasnt that much too, great theme though.

Gods however, as Clockd says holy crap was that hard, good job I had the trainer and as a child I of course used it and just destroyed everything

How good was Delta force though Clockd, at the time it was one of the first multiplayer games that really wowed me, just the size of the maps was insane, and looking out for that one pixel moving on screen!!

Oh and yes, California games is last!

If you only recognise 40% zpyder theres some stuff thats so good above it would still hold up today   simtower for example is just as good as it was back in the day :w00t:

Yeah, I remember that...but WHY?

I only remember 40% or so as I dont do sports games, and with the exception of Sim Ant and Sim Farm, I hate the Sim games.

Games I remember but arent on there (Commodore Amiga):

RoboCod
James Pond Olympics (I think thats what it was called)
F16-Interceptor (3D Wireframe graphics FTW! It had like 6 levels I think around the Golden Gate Bridge. I was chuffed when I could land on the aircraft carrier!)
Let Sleeping Gods Lie
Barbarian
Some spy game which no one could get very far on I think. It had an anti-piracy thing where at the start you had to use a paper decoder ring to figure out a code to continue and prove you owned the original game. I used to get caught/die at the airport.
Stunt Driver
There were 2 3D wireframe games that were "Escape from" and "Return to" RPG type games, but I cant remember what they were called.
EDIT: One was "Mercenary: Escape from Targ" Looks like I wasnt the only one that didnt know WTF was going on...

Lemmings isnt on there!
Navy Seals
Ooohhhh, Dungeon master:

I think it was F-18 Interceptor, and I couldnt get past the level where you had to drop the rescue thing.

Ah, close enough then!

And Wizball:

Dungeon Master used to scare the crap out of me, being able to hear things a few moves away etc. I never got very far....part of me wants to play it now, as I have a feeling itll be easier!

I had an Atari Lynx with Warbirds (great 2 player dogfight action - you could hide in the clouds from your opponent!), Paperboy, California Games, Batman Returns and Shinobi, probably some others. Fantastic (big) handheld the Lynx 8-)

A few others from me:

best 2D side scrolling beat em up ever. The musical score was as groundbreaking as the rest of the game.

who doesnt like tourniquetting and amuptating their own limbs with no painkillers?

God knows how I used to beat him...

Nearly forgot the hardest game of all time:

There are videos of people 1cc (1 credit completing) that game, which is just alarming beyond all reason given how hard it is :gag:

Loving this thread so far, even more memories than the best games of the 90s/last decade thread, keep the screens coming

GOLDENAXE! Genius... I used to spend my pocket money playing that in the local arcade.. Managed to complete it despite my meagre allowance.  :ptu:
