Basically Im after a template/wizard or similar to just create a small, fancy looking website that would have some basic details on and contact details, and a couple dozen photos as an online portfolio/resume style. I dont have the time, knowledge or skills to be able to create something by scratch so a template is the only solution I fear. Problem is I dont want it to look too generic!

Any suggestions for scripts etc that you guys have stumbled across that are actually pretty good?

Unfortunately you cant really have it both ways, you cant have a site made from a script/template and also have it looking unique and different.

The only way to make something look classy and different is to manually code the design of the site yourself.

Aye :(

I was thinking along the lines perhaps of what M3ta posted, as some templates may allow modifications etc to make it look different.

That, or finding quality templates that arent used that often and so look different from the norm :D

Check out visual web developer express, there are templates available for that and its pretty much drag n drop.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

http://www.zpyder.co.uk - resorted back to Joomla. I stopped using it when my old site/server got hacked through a security flaw in one of the components (I think coppermine). However for what I want I guess its the best option, and I figure keeping it simple with as few modules/components as possible should help keep it secure.

It certainly seems the latest version that got installed through fantastico is a lot more polished and easier to use than the older one I last used. even the modules/components seem more reliable (before it appeared that every other module I installed wouldnt work...)
