It's such a shame these games have to be released under EA and not Maxis any more, EA are the worst publisher... as long as its polished and plays like the others though it will be excellent :w00t:

EA branding themselves over it I don't mind, EA running the show is another matter, ie every C&C Game since Generals, the only decent one they did.

Anyone remember when a white pixel dancing across the screen was cutting edge?

Damn those graphics (if in-game rather than just rendered) are amazing.

Crap, I think I need to upgrade my DVD-ROM.

The multiplayer aspect looks fun, I bet it will open up whole realms of opportunity for sabotage!

You should be ok tbh, I have a dual speed one and the Intel Inside intro movie just gets a bit choppy, have you tried optimizing your autoexec.bat to force it to go up to 4/5x or such?

Yeah choppiness is my problem too. I can only watch intro movies for games that are written on the outside edge of the disc or they won't play fast enough at all :(

CDs/DVDs have the same amount of data on the outside track as they do on the inside track.... it's just spread out more ;)

hard drives pack more on the outer tracks - but that's a new thing that only started a few years ago

Intro movies are usually copied to the HD, even if they aren't the disk should be more than fast enough to supply the data rate required. My old one certainly seems fast enough
