Very laggy Virgin Internets
on: May 10, 2009, 12:08:24 PM
Last few days my internet connection has been exceptionally slow to load pages.Speedtest says im connected at around 18Mb/s but it certainly doesnt feel that way. Also all the speed seems to arrive about 10 or so seconds into the test, before that it hovers around 3mb/s.

Im getting a similar thing with Torrents (legal obv.), they take hours to get going but once connections are established i get decent speeds.

Could it be a DNS issue?

Try setting your dns to:

primary: 4.2.2.2
secondary: 4.2.2.1

See if thats faster.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

I fail to see how this is a DNS issue if the download speed test starts and then speeds up.

If it was a DNS problem, it would take a long time to start, or not start at all.
