3 characters?? 2 at 70 & 1 at 60 odd? how many levels are there? - does it take long to level?
Currently the level cap is 70.
Theyve recently made the leveling process from levels 20-60 approx. 40% quicker than it used to be, to help new players level up quicker.
Its been suggested that an experienced player can get a new char 1-60 in about 4 days /played (as in 4 days of play time, not real time). For a brand new player Id probably say around 10 or 12 days /played - depending on the class.
Egg, lemme know what the email address is for the account youve got and Ill email you an invite back to the game, if you accept Ill get a free month.
Whos best to start using?
If you mean what class, heres my little brake down of the classes.
Hunter - Probably the easiest to level up. Also the easier to play, but one of the hardest to master. You use a ranged weapon (bow/Xbow/gun) to kill enemies (mobs). Also you have a pet to help you. The pet traditionally is the one the mob attacks whilst you stand far away and shoot it. For PVP, a decent class once you get some good gear although suffers from line-of-sight issues in Arena. Extremely common class
Ranged Damage/Utility Class.Warrior - Quite slow to level up. Used to be the only useful tanking class in the game. More recently other classes have been tanking quite a bit too, meaning a lot of Warriors have gone damage spec. For tanking, its the class with the most panic buttons for when things go wrong. For DPS they can do a huge amount of damage. Singularly the most gear dependant class in the game. For PVP, assuming a Mortal Strike spec and good gear, they are one of the most powerful classes. Very common class.
Tanking/Melee Damage Class.Priest - Reasonably quick to level if shadow spec. Used to be the best healer in the game, again a recent change to game mechanics means most are now damage spec. They are casters, using either Holy, or shadow to heal or damage. Very much wanted in endgame raiding due to their ability to give mana back to the group. For PVP, can be strong in either a healing or damage roll. Few holy priests about, with plenty of shadow ones.
Healer/Caster Damage/Utility Class.Rogue - A pure damage class, quite quick to level up. Duel-wields daggers/swords/maces. Has the ability to stealth themselves hiding from enemies and suprise attacks. Argueably the highest damage class in the game. Needed for raiding due to high damage output. For PVP they are very annoying to fight against especially for casters - will be destroyed by a warrior.
Melee Damage Class.Paladin - Multi-utility class, very slow to level. With the introduction of the expansion pack, both sides (Alliance/horde) can now play as the Paladin class. Most paladins play as a healer, being the best single target healer in the game. They can tank really quite well however decent gear is required. They have a damage spec, although it isnt great at the moment. In PVP (depending on spec) can be one of the hardest classes to kill.
Healer/Tank Class.Shaman - Multi-utility class, reasonably quick to level. Again both sides can now play as this class. Masters of the elements, they use nature to heal allies, and to damage oponents. Usually only a healer or damage class, they do equally as well at either. Most at endgame are healers however. In PVP a very strong class in any spec.
Caster/Melee Damage/Healing Class.Druid - Pure Hybrid Class, quite quick to level but quite boring. This class has the ability to shapeshift into various things. Druids can tank, heal, or damage. Very strong tanks due to recent changes - not as many panic buttons as a warrior, but with a huge amount of hit points and armor. Healing they rely on HoTs (heal over times) that heal a small amount every few seconds as opposed to single large heals that other classes use. Damage wise they can be either a rogue style melee class, or a caster doing damage at range with magic. Druids are the jack of all trades in this game. Strong in PVP in most specs.
Tanking/Melee Damage/Caster Damage/Healing ClassWarlock - Damage and pet class, quick to level. The warlock is a caster that can summon demons to help him. Uses fire and shadow spells to kill opponents. Similar to a hunter but uses magic and demons to kill things. In PVP they are often considered overpowered due to the ability to fear things (make opponents run away randomly so they have no control over their character), and with good gear they can do an extreme amount of damage.
Caster Damage/Utility Class.Mages - Pure magic damage, quick to level. Mages uses arcane, frost and fire to kill enemies. Depending on spec/skill/gear, mages can do the most amount of damage of any class in the game. The suffer from the glass cannon issues, loads of damage, but very easy to kill in both PVP and normal play.
Caster Damage Class.Phew, that was a lot of typing. :-) More info can be found here :

http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/ is a great start if youre new to the game, give it a quick read to grasp the basics.

If you are starting a new character, remember that most people playing the game have a high level character so there wont be many people to group with until you get to around level 60. Dont let that put you off, there are still plenty of people just not as many as when you hit that level.
The game is incredably popular with over 9 million players world wide, so there is a person playing from every walk of life. Unfortunately like most popular things, there are a lot of idiots involved.
Any more questions feel free to ask.
*edit - Time to stroke the epeen. Heres my hunter :
