XBOX Live arcade games?

I forgot where i read it, but does X360 have some arcade service where you can play all the old classics? I saw street fighter 2 hyper fighting being reviewed on ign last week for Live.

Does this arcade service work on the normall XBOX Live? In fact what services are on offer using the normall XBOX online?

Thanks :)

Street Fighter 2 has been made available today on xbox live arcade for 360. There was a version of xbox live arcade for the original xbox, but it comes on a cd which is required to access the arcade. I dont know if they still release games on that, but you wont see the same games as on the 360 version.

For info on the games available in the 360 arcade, check here: http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/games/catalog.aspx?g=116000000&p=1&c=10&s=0&xlm=0&h=0&r=0

Over the past few weeks they have been releasing a game every wednesday on the arcade and hopefully this will be continued.

Oh, and you have to buy the arcade games too.

You dont have to... you can download them as trials and pay for them if you like them. All the arcade games operate on a try before you buy.

Buying allows you to score gamerpoints/achievements and also allows access to the full game and features, which may be locked in the trial

I only put that in there just in case he thought that all the games were free to download and play as you wish. The demos are usually short and have certain features locked..

Depends on the game, Galaga is 400 points, which is about £3.50, SFII is 800 points, so about £7, which is a billy bargain considering when the original Turbo edition came out for the SNES it went for around £60.

Bonus being SFII is now online enabled. Methinks it will be a likely purchase.
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo… Again.

Thats F***ING awesome, excuse my French ;)

Im looking into a little wireless bridge thingy to connect my xbox to, but while im considering that i may save up a little for the X360. Ive got a spare LAN cable through my loft into one end of my room, but i cba having a cable running along the floor lol, OCD kicking in ;) But seriously tho, i heard the 54Mbps bridge work perfectly fine?

Actually, doesnt the X360 have built-in 802.11 wireless? :/

The joypads work wirelessly but if you want to hook up to your network you have to buy the xbox 360 wireless network adapter.
