Xbox360 - VGA
on: December 02, 2006, 14:24:17 PM
Still havent got a 360, its my mission to get one before the end of the month though.

Im interested in the VGA side of things, as Ive got an Acer 1916w screen.
Anyone else got this screen, and care to tell me if it works as HD?

Heres to hoping!!

I run my 360 through a 19" widescreen TFT w/ the Official VGA cable and it works perfectly.

My TFTs native res is slightly too big for the 360 so I run a slightly lower res that does make circles look a little oblonged but its not noticable unless you really look.

Apart from that it is all HD goodness :)

i want a 24" widescreen monitor now though

Can you take a better picture of that, and what game is it?

That game was prey.

Tried to get a shot of gears of war on a 5mp camera but it didnt come out at all as the flash kept ruining it. Just trust me that at maxium res it looks superb (1360x768 or whatever it is)

If you google it plenty of people use it as a 360 monitor :)

the 360 will output 1920x1080 now  :D
only thing to check on is if your using with a crt, you can get used to the 60hz it runs at.

im running it through a 17" crt atm as my SD telly wont output 60hz

next monitor will be a 24" lcd with 1920x1200

Any TFT with Aspect Fill will be great for the 360.  Otherwise when it scales the 360 output the aspect ratio will be off.  I use a Philips Brilliance 200W that I got from Amazon.

the thing is, the VGA has that many different ress you can choose, im sure you can find pretty much every wide screen hi def tvs res in there.

i know it does at least 1280x720, 1366x768, 1920x1080, and also 1280x1024 for all us square screen people :D

Its a nice screen, the only complaint I have is that there is no button for choosing input, you have to change via the menus. :(

I used to have the 360 set to 1280x1024 and then have widescreen set.  Then I realised it would be better at 1280x720 and doing aspect fill.

Mine isnt 22", its 20.5" ie 1680x1050
