wont work on XP64 bit.  XP64 is actually Windows 2k3 with the XP front end bolted on.  Be happy youll get more service packs to come.  I am, itll stay in the full support loop until at least th epoint WIndows7 arrives.

I ended up having to repair XP after SP3 cocked it up a couple of weeks ago, but probably serves me right for downloading it before it was officially released?

rolled back to sp2 and all is fine again.

Just installed here too and everything seems fine on my laptop, will update on my desktop over the weekend at some point. Only difference iv noticed is that Windows seems to be running a lot faster than when it was on SP2 when navigating through windows etc.

Im not sure.

Ive re-installed it now and its still doing it...

the network just keeps saying acquiring ip address then  network cable unplugged, acquiring ip address then  network cable unplugged, acquiring ip address then  network cable unplugged over and over.

its working now because Ive manually set my IP, gateway and DNS. but if i set them to auto (DHCP) then it starts doing it again.

any ideas?

DHCP to run it needs AFD, Netbios over TCP/IP and IPSEC driver, and the TCP/IP protocol driver

Get the latest mobo or if a seperate network card latest drivers for it see if that stops it? You got an asus mobo by any chance?

It went on fine here and even sorted out a problem I have, for one boot :/

When I boot up not all of my "run on startup" applications load. Any ideas ?

to be fair, looking at your other issues in relation to speed I would suggest you have a buggered router.

Even though for me the upgrade to SP3 went fine on my laptop, i installed SP3 on my main rig last night and towards the end i kept getting debug errors with the red Xs, had to keep clicking to close it like a hundred times and it finally got to the end and i restarted as prompted, anyway after it loaded windows and i waited for the desktop to appear, just a blank screen :S ok then i waited a min but nothing and then i restarted again and it seemed to get through to the desktop fine this time but for some reason it re-detected the USB port where my wireless adaptor is plugged in and nothing happened there so i disconnected the adapter and then plugged it back in, the adapter came back on & automatically connected to my network again and the machine with SP3 hasnt played up since.
