Xperia X1

Finally got around to upgrade time and got the phone.

Even though there seems to be a fair few bad reviews out there, I cant fault it really. I think a lot of the negative press comes from people that dont quite understand that a Windows Mobile device is not really a phone like a symbian or iPhone. Its more of a PDA first phone second.

The loose back isnt really an issue, you just have to slightly bend the side a little and it makes it a much tighter fit.

The only problem is that my phone has suffered from the reported cracking of the case. Its only hairline and a couple of mm long next to the stylus, nothing really to worry about, apart from if it were to get worse. I am going to see if I can get the O2 shop to swap it over, given the crack occurred on the second day I had it, without dropping it etc. I figured Id wait until after chrimbo though as I cant face going into town whilst so ill and the xmas mad panic is on!

Been looking to get one of these for work as Ive read reviews saying its a little better than the HTC Touch Pro and I prefer the look of the bigger keys than the ones on the Pro. Just hunting for the best deal at the min though, seeing if I can get it in a deal with a free PS3. If not Ill probably get it on Vodafone with £100 cashback through quidco.

Got mine today and have been playing about with it for the past few hours, installing apps and stuff. The back on mine seems a really tight fit so doesnt look like itll come loose. So far, Im really liking the phone, takes a bit of getting used to as it is my first Win Mobile device, but Im already loving all the functions on it.

This phone should make work a lot easier now as I can fill out my end of day reports throughout the day and email them as soon as I finish my last job, rather than spending time at home doing them when I could be relaxing.

Aye. I look at this phone more as a PDA that finally has the connectivity options to really make it a pocket/mobile device. Sure they have been there in the past, but unless you have an unlimi9ted data plan, or lots of wifi coverage, using these things to their full potential gets very costly fast!

Simple things such as being able to turn my phone on and see I have 3 new email,s and see what they are, without having to get to a computer, is so nice :D

Been checking out some of the stuff over at xda developers for the X1. Now got the HTC TouchFlo interface installed as a panel, got the vodafone panel changed to the Google panel, and am now looking at some of the speed tweaks that have been posted.

I tried the touchflo panel, but after getting used to the SPB Shell panel it just seemed like so much eye candy and not enough ease of use

Some of the speed tweaks work, others at times seem to slow it down :| I was tempted to try installing a new ROM that is meant to be faster, but decided it was too much hassle, and that Id wait for SE to release a new update or something...
