Was just wondering how many acronyms there are in everyday use on forums like this.

below are some to start, add any more you can think of (no cheating):

btw - by the way
ftw - for the win
imo - in my oppinion
imho - im my humble/honest oppinion
tbh - to be honest
tbvh - to be very honest
lol - laugh out loud
rofl - roll on the floor laughing
afaik - as far as i know
ffs - for f**k sake

Wow, those look me longer than I expected, not on the top of my head as I thought.

There must be lots more ... go!

The one I like the most but not used ever really.

"FUNDY" - F**ked Up, not dead yet, allegedly used on british medical charts during the wars.

yup also "any recognition".

IBTL is normally used in response to a troll in a forum, I.E. the thread will be closed/locked as its breaking the rules.

QFT = This man speaketh the truth! :D

and QFE = well... just incase someone doesnt get the point, or perhaps a point is lost in a long paragraph, snippets can be quoted for emphasis.

American military jargon has tons. I like "BCGs" as in "Birth control glasses", the thick plastic army issue specs.

some more:

    * SNAFU - Situation Normal: All f**ked Up.
    * SNAFU - SPiffy nudered and f**king up
    * FUMTU - f**ked Up More Than Usual.
    * FUBB - f**ked Up Beyond Belief.
    * FUBIO - f**k You Buddy, Im Out; or Forget You, Bub, Its Over (polite form)
    * TARFU - Things Are Really f**ked Up.
    * TOFU - Things Ordinary: f**ked Up.
    * GFU - General f**k Up.
    * SAMFU - Self Adjusting Military f**k Up.
    * BOHICA - Bend over, here it comes again.
    * TUIFU - The Ultimate In f**k Ups.
    * FUBAR - f**ked Up Beyond All Recognition/Repair/Reason/Redemption.
    * FUGAZI - f**ked Up, Got Ambushed, Zipped In; Refers to out-of-control situation such as a chaotic jungle warfare combat environment
    * JANFU - Joint Army/Navy f**k-Up; apparently used by British troops in WWII.
    * JAAFU or JAAFFU - Joint Army-Air Force f**k-Up; the use of JANFU combined with a radical increase in joint-forces operations since 1989, has led to the rare but increasing use of JAAFU/JAAFFU.
    * DILLIGAF/DILLIGAS - Do I Look Like I Give A f**k/sh*t? Interogative form of, "(It) dont mean nothing." Both often heard in Vietnam.
    * TINS - This Is No sh*t! Often seen in veterans forums.
    * MUBAR - Mash up beyond all recognition. Refers to being proper mash up.
    * SMUBAR - Semi mash up beyond all recognition. Not quite MUBAR but well on the way.
    * BOYC - Bitches, obey your commander! (Or "Balls on your chin")
    * YUCATAN - Youre Under Certain Annihilation Throw A Nuke!
