ahh yes, Mr Trubbs lol.

Remember it well :)  Back when this was a hardware place.  Cascade water cooling, knightys radiator water cooling, phase changers, me putting water cooling in shuttles, people racing for distributed computing scores, every poster having 3dmark scores and system specs in their sigs.

There were a couple of other gems on here over the years.

I remember when I first joined must have been around mid 2003ish people always had their 3d marks and specs in their sigs. I remember it being a lot more hardware orientated but also a lot more random stuff going on - far more photo posts and people doing weird projects and stuff. I also remember my NDA avatar that I think Alien8 made for me?

Ahh was superb!  :D

Ah yes, The Egg Thread, I think I posted on the second page on that one. Tekforums was pretty much at its best back in 2002. :)

Nah, it really went downhill after the big switchover period, where it went Tekforums > Bigforums > Tekforums:81 > Tekforums with new database, every time it switched we lost a bunch of members. The community was a lot bigger back then, and Trubs egg frying only helped to gain new members.

so in 5 years, the admin as only made an extra 1000 posts? Is this forum really 10+ year old then? (working on average post count)

Postcounts for myself and a few others went past the 10k mark before all was lost.

Im not such a spammer these days either :D

If you go back as far as the Power Computing/OCS days we probably are 10 years old.

I think for a lot of us we just grew up a bit. I dont know for sure but Id say a large proportion of those on here, particularly the real old timers, are within about 5 years of one another age wise.

Those were indeed the good old days, when team Tekforums was a force to be reckoned with wherever it appeared and you werent really a member unless you had full system spec (including at least 2 overclocked components), 3Dmark score, average SETI time, Superpi 1M time and UD cancer research scores listed in your sig.

Anyone remember the gun avatars?
