BBC News over using quotes
on: December 10, 2006, 10:26:56 AM
Just looked on the bbc news website and there are quotes everywhere!!

The worst area is science/nature

Quote

 Ebola kills over 5,000 gorillas
 Birth rate harms poverty goals
 Industry paid top cancer expert
 Malaria speeds spread of Aids
 Plastics poisoning worlds seas
 Water flowed recently on Mars

It is just me or is something a little odd with that, they are supposed to be reporting news not quoting someone else constantly

Its because they can use a quote like that and take it completely away from the correct context and use it to further their own agenda without looking responsible for reporting something in a false way.
