The guys a total total sell out with all the TV shows he now does, however I just dont watch them, and he is superb on top gear.

I hope this all blows over and hes fine, so that they can air the footage, then rip the piss out of him in the show :-)

By the sounds of things, they were trying to set a new british land speed record which it failed to do at the time, it broke the Outright British Land Speed Record of 300.3mph in 2000 with Colin Fallows, 54 driving at that time.  It is the same vehicle.

In theory the car is capable of 370mph.  Hammond was doing about 300mph when it went wrong.  :?

Hopefuuly when he does get back on the show instead of an award for land speed record they can give him the record for fastest recorded crash and lived.  :-)

At the moment, he has a serious brain injury, they are hopefull of a god recovery but the next few hours are somewhat important.
