Apparantly he beat the british record of 300.3 on that fatal run.

Youre getting a little ahead of yourself - they are cautiously optimistic he will make a good recovery. Not exactly fatal
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo… Again.

according to the radio today... the roll cage saved him, but when they got to him the car was upside down and his head was stacking into the ground, they dug out round it so they didnt disturb/damage him anymore.

on the news earlier they didnt say "brain damage" they said "brain injury" so fingers crossed he might be OK :)

considering its b3ta, and the fact its not directly skitting the fact hammond is in hospital, just poking fun at the personalities of his co-workers (and motoring journalists in general), its not that bad.

made me kinda smile at the clarkson bit.

Not as distasteful as the steve irwin jokes, but its early days yet I guess.

Dave.

Listen more carefuly :)

significant brain injury is not brain damage

News this morning is that he has been moved out of intensive care into a normal room, so hes getting better by the hour not the day so he is all right.

They also say "people were evacuated" but I doubt they go around issuing forced enemas...

theres a reasonable chance hell make a good recovery.

good - not full and thats typical doctor speak (f*cking hell - ive been around enough of them in the last year), i doubt hammond will be back on TV in the near future, if at all... a couple of people in my family inc. the ex-missus had head traumas and even though they were only slight in some cases, you can tell theyre not themselves anymore...

Not sure if its true or not, but aparrently when he was conscious on the way to helicopter he was talking to the camera!

As for head injuries, a doctor will never say someone will make a "Full Recovery" ever.  They wont even say that is you hurt your finger because they can never be 100% certain.  As i understand these types of injuries arent uncommon in Boxers.  Talking to a mate (who is a GP now but did surgery while training) he said that if the patient survives the fiorst 48 hours they normally make a good recovery, but the patient will often have problems doing what they where doing when they where injured.

I can see the little git having another go if he does get back up on his feet.  Just to prove that a bloody car cant beat him.
