More offensive that banning religion altogether, is having an official fairy tale requiring your citizens to kneel on carpets five times daily, but refusing people who believe another fairy tale that involves kneeling and consuming bread/flesh and blood of said savior, their right to do so.

If the Islamics want to be seen as a modern religion then they are going to have to drop all these kind of things. Possibly excepting execution for murder and chopping repeat thieves hands off...

The Hebrew Bible has a bunch of cool stuff you can do to your kids if they dont obey, including killin! w00t! But you dont see Jews offin little Samuel because he stole his brothers dreidel.

Afghanistan is hopeless though, I think this is almost more about political intimidation through example than a real religious decree being carried out. Muslims and Christians lived together for a long time in Moorish Spain, without too much conflict. The question arises, why do they choose to interpret the Koran in this way now? Politics. Duh.

I dont know whether to say that Islam is the most violent religion, or more accurately, the Muslim world is in general the most violent and unstable today. That hasnt always been the case, but whats changed?

nah - it is the correct punishment in Islamic law - it is just that a lot of muslim countries dont enforce it.

Tis on the books in a few though

try going over to saudi - converting to islam just to see mecca then deciding to not bother afterwards & convert back to christianity - theyd have a bloody good go at trying to execute you if you were blatant about it & still in country - obviously as a westener a bit of diplomatic stand off & youd be out after a few months & a couple of beatings but the law still stands for the natives.

I know from nurses who have worked in Saudi, including one of my girlfriends I mentioned on the old forums, that the faith police think everyone should obey sharia law, not just the Muslim faithful. The problem being very few people here know about it and what it implies directly.

Any woman with her head uncovered stepping out on the street is just asking for trouble and they are banned from driving, they have to have a male driver to take them anywhere. IN the UK or US it would be regarded as blatant sexisim but its accepted there.

It gives you the option of trying to play it directly in M$ Media Player which it brings up as a seperate item and then Media Player cant find the item, it certainly doesnt use a weird java player

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on another computer, verify that you are connected to the network. If you typed a path, verify that it is correct. If the problem persists, the server might not be available.

The link works fine in IE which suggests they are trying to nobble FF again.

OK?
