Thanks a lot for the advise guys

Wasnt expecting that much info really. Some good suggestions for me to try there!

What are petit corona or a robusto though?? Im guessing a size?

Are humidifiers worth it? As the dont last too long in my house for me thinking I need one?

I have been smoking cigars for 30 yrs or so , go for long spells when i dont smoke @ all but always seem to come back to them.
Tried many many different ones but the 1s i enjoy the most is good old Hamlet , i get bored of larger cigars. When i smoked cigarettes i smoked 30+ a day
but with cigars probably 3 to 5 a day.Are they better than cigarettes ? well certainly better than smoking 30+ cigarettes.
I do believe that the chemicals that they treat the paper on cigarettes contains a lot of toxins , leave a cigarette burning & it will burn down
to the filter , leave a cigar & it goes out.
Who the smeg is Dwayne Dibbley ?

Pipes are good fun and nice with different types of tobacco for flavour, certainly a hassle though and more of a novelty I think.

As for a humidor chrisdicko, if you intend on making it a habit you can start off easily by making your own or using a humijar that needs little attention with fresh cigars stored in (basically a sealable glass jar with a humidifying cylinder in, they are a bit cheaper than a full humidor). If you intend on getting quite a few to keep and smoke at your leisure Id say its worth it, I got mine in the last sale they had for about £30 I think, they threw in the humidifier, guage, distilled water solution, matches, etc. bargain really if youre going to maintain it. Mine needs some TLC before I can actively use it again I think, but I know I have it there to use for when I have a bit of money to splash on a few nice cigars again.

A little bit of a bumparoony, not smoked at all over the last few months. I can take it or leave it in the winter, standing outside in the freezing cold doesn't appeal to me so I've just been doing maitenance (topping up with water) on the humidors.

Think I may crack one out if this weekend is mildish, chrisdicko did you end up getting some?

I got given an authentic Guantanamera Minutos to try out by the missus, I might light it up this weekend too, I'm hoping for a relatively short but sweet smoke.

I just received a late Christmas present from a client, a 16 year old single malt. Very chuffed! These two will be a nice partnership  8)

That whiskey looks crazy, so clear  :o

Did you ever smoke that Fonseca? if so what did you think? they're quite light, but good for a cheap cuban I think.

What websites do people use to buy their cigars? Or do you pop down to your local tobacconist? I know that whenever I pop in to the local one to get some pipe tobacco I always end up drooling at the cigars they have on offer there.

It's like the best shop in the world ever. I could stay there for a good 3 hours just looking at all the tarry goodness they have on offer.

I did smoke the Fonseca but I can't remember when, I do remember it was a very nice smoke though, quite mild. I've been given a Cohiba in a glass tube from my mate that came back from the Carribbean (along with some authentic Costa Rican coffee grounds) I'm not sure what size it is, its long and quite thin like a felt tip pen. So that's two cigars and that whiskey to try (that in particular will be interesting to try, it's the most expensive bottle I've ever been given)

I used to have a decent choice of tobacconists when I lived in Brum, I never see them anywhere these days. But it's usually cheaper and the service is excellent from http://www.cgarsltd.co.uk/ - the only thing missing is that drool factor.

Coronas Especiales, Cuba.

I have four myself.

Rumour has it you're in for a treat there.

Close, but no cigar it seems!

Looks like it's ever so slightly thinner and shorter

Perhaps my Stabilo is a giant amongst the felt pen world  Panatela or Exquisitos size I reckon from the guage

I'd be interested in how long that Cohiba lasts actually, at a guess 30 mins tops, but that makes it a more viable choice for the winter months :yarr:

I checked my humidors last night, both very low humidity, seems I hadn't topped them up in a few months :gag:
