Ive also just started working life this year, and while both uni and work have its tough spots theyre both pretty easy if you actually bother to get the work done. A lot of people who complain about their workload at uni/work just dont know how to manage their resources / balance work and play. Have fun and all, just get the bleedin work done.
Hell I spent most my last year at uni dossing, started my dissertation 8 days before it was due in bashing out 12k words and got 67%, while also producing a docu for the university and finishing off a 30k word consultancy project.
I suppose if Id worked hard throughout that year I couldve easily got a 1st class degree, but IMHO it means fud all unless your doing something like medicine! Personality plays a huge role in which ever job your going for. (I know a guy at MS who got a great job, then they found out he lied about his degree... he didnt have one! They kept him on anyways)
I spend half my day doing bugger all at work and still get praise!
Im not the smartest guy in the world - far from it, but knowing how to manage resources, expectations and your own public relations can go a very long way!

As for the original question  Normally leave anywhere between 6-8pm, takes me an hour to get back by car driving through the hell that is London (tube would take 1.5hrs for my journey)
