I have celebrated the genocide of the American Indian

with some great Vietnamese food! Shrimp spring roll with peanut sauce and a pork dumpling soup with sprouts. Served with a bottomless glass of Pepsi, the drink of choice with SE Asian spicy food. The only other people in the place were some sallow vegans, with their canvas shoes and grey ponytails. The turtlenecks made them perhaps nihilists as well, but I thought nihilists didnt get out much.

Now Im home and shall have pumpkin pie with whipped cream, to celebrate those wonderful pilgrims and their first harvest.

:D

Get in line. The entire hood wants my "beggars purse".

I make them myself all the time: pork, minced shallot, bamboo shoot, salt, pepper, sesame oil, an egg,  and perhaps some bok choy chiffonade. Mix and put in some dumpling skins, then boil or steam. Super easy and great for parties. Pot sticker method: put in pan with two tablespoons oil, and a quarter cup of water, loosely cover and cook till water evaporates and dumpling sticks to pan, slightly browning. Serve with a soy/sesame/vinegar sauce. :slobber:
