Phone contracts

Just wondering if anyone knows if it is actually possible to upgrade a mobile phone contract before the end of the contract?

EG, youre on a 12 month contract, youve got 4 months to go. Whats the liklihood that you can either get an upgrade, or pay off the rest of the contract in one go and upgrade?

Im guessing that its not possible, but it always seems people get all sorts of crazy deals on their phones and contracts, and I always end up lumped with a contract which isnt cheap and doesnt offer much!

Yes its possible.

Upgrade no problem.

Downgrade = problem.

If you want to pay more thats not an issue, you can get the upgrade, but if you want to downgrade, most have clauses stopping it.

I presume though thered be issues for getting a new handset, or would they be able to calculate a figure to pay off in one go to cover the cost of the old/new phone?

You wouldnt get one.

Your tariff would just change. Same handset.

The only way to get a new handset would be to buy off your contract and make a new one.
