Strangled my dog
on: September 07, 2007, 21:49:17 PM
Krystal was walking Keiser, she let him off the lead as usual, this time he ran upto a bloke, the bloke deliberately pulled the collar tight, it was so tight my kids could not undo it, a male friend undid it, later Kaiser had a stroke, Jess and my kids took Kai to the vets, they said its not good, we have to wish hell be OK, theres a 80% chance he might die still.

Edit.

Just spoken to Jess, the man is denying it and the vet cant prove the collar was pulled, so the prick gets away with it.

Hang on a sec.  I know you may not want a devils advocate here but what the hell was your dog doing running up to someone off a lead and reaching the the point where someone felt he needed to grab the collar in the first place?

It sounds more like the guy grabbed the collar because he felt the dog was out of control...

I hope your dogs ok but people dont just wander around strangling dogs.  The real world just doesnt work like that.  If a dog looks like he might do something stupid then I can believe someone would grab at the collar to control it.

As for someone turnin up on his doorstep you want to watch going down that path.  If he is as you say a person who would (for no reason) strangle a dog theres no reason he wouldnt just crack the guy.  If he was doing it in defense then not only were you using a dog out of control but youre also harassing him and threatening GBH.  Not smart.

I was pretty much going to say exactly the same thing earlier but bit my lip.

I reckon sending a guy round to intimidate is probably one of the more stupid ideas youve had.  Hope the dogs ok etc etc, but you seem to have a natural wish to antagonize people, which doesnt make a lot of sense.  If you ever wanted to take any legal route with this, youve now just ensured that youd be the one who gets fd in the a.

You friend might want to watch his back doing things like that. Im sure hes a tough guy and can handle himself and everything but go threatening people on their own doorsteps and your likely to get an iron bar round the back of your head at a later date when your not looking. All the karate in the world wont help him then.

I was going to agree with Steve and FC9K and I totally agree with what theyve said. However in reality I have to admit that if someone strangled my dog and it made them really ill Id beat the living sh*t out the person who did it. That probably makes me an idiot to be fair but then I think rage does tend to do that!!  :D
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

Same as whats been said.

1. Why did he do it first off?

2. Threatening has now left you with no legal recourse.

Doh. I know its easy to get caught up in the heat of the moment, but dah, talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

Bit old school here, I believe in a eye for a eye, Ill answer for you,

If everyone did that, the world would be blind.

Me,  OK Ill leave it to a stupid Judge then.

Thats what I will be told, it only a dog, no one cares.

Also its down to Physical proof, we can deny going around there, just like hes denying he hurt Kaizer, if the Police go around to see him, he will deny it, he has to.

The thing we said was, we will put a collar on your neck and pull it tight.

My Kids love that field, I cant stop them, because of him, they know if he does it again, use their mobiles and phone the Police, he scared them doing that.

Kaiser is now 1/2 the dog he was.

Thanks for the concern.
