The perfect Burger?

Ive been really enjoying burgers recently. Eating lots of them!

Todays example:



Ingredients (in order shown):

-------------bun------------
------tomato sauce--------
----melted cheese slice---
--------onion rings --------
---smoky bacon rasher---
-----------burger-----------
-------sliced tomato-------
------------lettuce----------
---------diced onion-------
------mayonnaise---------
-------------bun------------

What do you think makes a great burger? I cant afford great meat, its more the accessories I change.

I made one last night when I got back, 1/2lb beef, onions, mature Cheddar, ketchup and mustard.

There was no mushrooms :(

Tried chicken breast, bacon, beef burger, onion rings, tom. sauce, onion rings and mayo today (didnt have any salad left :() and it wasnt great, too much meat (:o) and not enough sauces/ accessories.

Im going to ensure I buy some gherkins next time im out, they make a burger!

Opinions on gherkins?

Im off to the gym in a min. They have some fantastic burgers there, perhaps Ill have one on the way out :)
