The weapon is a very old anti-tank gun from the thirties by the looks, When he inserts the shell the breech should close atuomatically sealing the shell in, except it doednt work properly. On the second attempt he attempts to speed up and force it in. With an old, worn mechanisim the breech closes and the firing mechanisim goes and sets the shell off.

The gun has quite a bit of recoil so the breech hits him in the lower chest/stomach. Probably has some very interesting bruising if not broken ribs or internal injuries.

I think its real, guns that old often worn and have little problems if not properly maintained.

Bet that hurt!

to me ill looks like hes pulled back by one of thoughs rope things that they use in the movies.

his posture and "smoothness" of him flying backwards looks orcistrated.

thats horsesh*t. breech fires can happen to anybody. as the percussino cap used to set the shell off is shock sensitive, it just exploded by accident.

thats why breeches are designed so they are offset from the axis of the body, so when and if it does go not much is torn from your body

Had similar things happen in my rifle club.

Fired...spring on the trigger broke (dont hear it as your wearing ear defenders, and its just a ping)... opened the breech.. placed round in... closed the breech, because the firing pin is out already bullet fired as the breech was closed.

Didnt get hit by anything, just fired without pulling the trigger.

Im not saying your method couldnt have happened red but its an old gun, looks like a chinese copy of the russian 37mm and the chances are its going to have a severe lack of maintainance. Wear would certainly make it more likely to misfire like that.
