Just FYI = 2 friends on low level NR jobs texted this morning to say they are receiving their normal 4-5% pay increase on 1st Jan, 2% christmas bonus and few hundred pounds cash.

That rates still much lower than the rate were being charged on mortgages in order to repay it. :)

Id hope so too tbh.. else Id be worried about how they expect to pay it back.

Point is that it is still a penalty rate - theyd have been able to borrow for a lot less if it wasnt for the credit crisis. They have built up their business not so much by taking deposits but by borrowing from the money markets.

I have a few shares in it, Im not selling them or feeling any pressure at all. Personally its time to buy shares in banks - not sell them.

I was half asleep when posting the first time, the shares are not in the Northern Rock, although two of my brothers have them.

Just me getting completely confused  :?
