I think the most appropriate translation is "white trash" - though scutters/chavs - dont *have* to be white

I was expecting a humourous list of items refering to Red Dwarf, most disapointed now :(

Sam and I always call them scutters, it is a bit more base than chav, the sort that not only stinks of delinquancy but are repulsive to boot.

fair enough, must say though I always thought the scutters on RD were kinda cute, which is a feeling I have never had about any Chav.
