You Tube nightmare
on: February 07, 2008, 22:28:29 PM
Im not the worlds biggest fan of you tube, and I notice half the posts on here now consist of no text and a link to you tube.
Can we make a forum where people can put the topics that are just links to you tube? What are your thoughts on that? I come here to look to see what banter is going on and instead I get topic after topic of links to sh*te videos on you tube.
Maybe Im just old and boring but it pisses me right off.

:whoops:  I know I do at times, a link section is not a bad idea though :)
As I use noScript I have noticed that I have to allow ytimg.com (whatever that is) to be able to watch a youtube flick
and sometimes on other flick links macromedia.com, using noScript really shows how much else one can get connected to
clicking on a link, most stuff is not necessary to allow though to be able to watch.

Good idea.

link + no text description really pisses me off.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Seperate section sounds like a good idea.  If people put some description or something then no probs but a straight youtube links a bit crappy as 90% of the time you have either seen it before or dont care.

video waffle it should be called
Sam is indeed older in terms of fart years then he actually is :)
Still though changes like this should only happen when the admin and mods agree the support section at top is to quite to be that high up :P

I was thinking about this last week and thought Id run it by you actually. Good idea.

I think a general links forum is a better idea than just a video forum, so it can incorporate all manner of timewasting crap.

maybe the admins could add the embed codes to the forum and we could watch the video inside the post?

or if whoever posts it adds YT to the front of the thread title, Sam and me tbf, will both know not to click into it.

We took off the embedding because it is open to hacks and abuse, so another forum is definitely the way to go.
