Anyone use a beanbag for taking shots? either on the floor on a fence/wall or anything?

I quite like the idea of one with a screw mount so i can get low (on the floor) and shoot.

Anyone do this? where can i get one from? im sure iv seen them in a mag sometime

7dayshop used to sell em I think. I remember being tempted myself but tbh I tend to find its fairly easy to make a makeshift tripod on the ground and a normal mini-tripod can tend to be used to prop on a fence. Plus Id rather not carry a bean bag around with me if I can help it!

Fairly easy to make a bean bag, just sew up a suitable bit of cloth and fill with polystyrene foam packing. Light and easy to use.

There is no point in putting a screw mount on a bean bag. The bag sags to conform to the lens/camera.

If you want a robust one then something like this will probably do the trick:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-CONTACT-LEFT-TACTICAL-SNIPER-BEAN-BAG-%28-UK-MADE%29_W0QQitemZ110411250300QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=155840800710&rvr_id=155840800710&cguid=c6b9c27312b0a0aad5030f13ffedd7d0

Only £20 so probably cheaper than doing it yourself.
