Right, looking at cameras...

Looked around the old tinternet and there are cheap cameras and I cant seem to find any cheaper than the ones on ebay tbh

So...

There the Fuji S5800 for total price of £152 give or take a few pennies with a 2GB mem card

OR

a little more at £172 for 4GB SD card and the same accesories but the FZ8

I can only see a difference in the Zoom... Im still leaning towards the FZ8 even though its more money.

Are there any arguments to go for the cheaper option?

Avoid ebay when buying cameras unless you like getting crap.

Go to a shop. If you cannot afford to buy a camera from a shop, then save your money. :)

but how can these cameras be crap? They are brand new from a powr seller with 283,000 feedback

In the shops they are all above £220, except from a few internet sites, that I wouldnt trust.

I could afford to go and buy this from Jessops or where ever, but why would I want to when I could save about £50 ?

Warranty, when they say their new... they are actually new, warranty, its £220 on ebay... thats a lot of money to put under blind trust, warranty, Ebay is scam heaven, the ability to try out a camera in the shop to see what you get on with best, warranty... need I go on?

www.hotdealsuk.com just watch that place for discount codes, or buy using quidco, and get the cash back.

Edit:

Jessops price match I believe, so find a price in another store, and take it in. Then when you buy camera, try and blag some accessories with it. "im spending £650 on a dslr and a couple of SD cards... can I have your £25 tripod for £15?" or "can you throw in a carry bag to sweeten the deal?"

FZ8 cheaper from a shop, although the card would be extra. TBH you dont need more than a 1GB card to start off.

Mostly in the ebay offers I have noticed that there are discrepancies in the details and prices. £499.99 value? I wish.
