The photo club I'm in at work organised a studio shoot this weekend for people to try something new - given I've never shot in a studio, or with a model, or using off-camera flash before it's fair to say it was a new experience!
Was really good fun though, with 5 or 6 of us with a good mixture of experience and a very friendly and obliging model it was possible to get plenty of shooting done but also watch other people working to get new ideas and help refine your technique.
Although there was a stack of rubbish (even more so than usual) there were a few shots I liked - have a look and see what you think. Any feedback, particularly on ways to improve next time in the studio, much appreciated.
If anyone is interested in shooting with flash / models etc I think this is a really good value for money way to get started - you get access to much nicer kit and to work with people who have some clue how to use it.
