Good Canvas Places?
on: November 07, 2011, 00:27:20 AM
Hey all,
so recently my family had some semi professional photos taken, and my mum's really keen to get one or two of the photos onto canvases, and I was wondering if any of you knew any good and reasonably priced places? We don't have a great deal of money to splash out on these but my mum is a bit of a pain when it comes to detail and it can't be shoddy.

Any suggestions would be great as I don't really know of any myself; it's all good looking online, but I was wondering if anyone had used someone and could say from experience if it's good or not.

Thanks!

I've used 1 click print who allow for custom print sizes, as I needed a very wide pano, and the quality and price wasn't bad, especially compared to others!:

Also got this in a mail the other day from them:

We've now added the final piece into our Christmas canvas line up. A4 Canvas for only £4.99!

Here's he complete list of our canvas offers, all perfect for that Christmas gift:

A4 Canvas only £4.99: www.1clickprint.com/a4canvas
A3 Canvas only £8.49: www.1clickprint.com/a3canvas
A2 Canvas only £15.99: www.1clickprint.com/a2canvas

Our Photo canvas prints are handmade in our own Yorkshire factory using only the finest redwood frames and fade proof inks ensuring that your memories last a lifetime.

There's also this man on ebay, who judging by feedback does offer a good service and the prices always seem pretty good, I've not used him yet but was going to:

I've used a 50% off photobox deal recently and will hopefully pick the canvas up today so will let you know what that's like. Mind you £4.99 for an A4 print is a steal. 50% off from photobox for something similar still worked out at about £25 after P&P!

Thanks!

I've had a look on the 1 click print place, but they say that all their canvases start from £24.99, I can't seem to find the christmas deal, so maybe it's a members only thing? I'm going to have to talk about it with my mum a bit more, she's now saying she wants one canvas and one framed print

Just click the links for each in my post, it'll take you to the 4.99 etc. page.. You don't need to login or anything to get it..

This link for example: www.1clickprint.com/a4canvas

They're fantastic prices for canvases.  I'd say that's worth a post on HUKD, (I'd do it but I dont want to steal your heat).

I'll have a look through my photos and see if I have anything suitable for printing or Christmas presents.

Just spotted this:

With postage this makes yours look less appealing.

Yes an no, having a look further the site that the KGB deal is through have their standard frame at 18mm, and I assume this is what they will use?

The standard on 1clickprint is 38mm?

Well the canvas from photobox arrived.

It was well packaged and protected, but just doesn't look right. The canvas seems to be a little slack on the frame, but I don't know if it's meant to be totally taught against it anyway.

But I did email them as in one of the corners it looks like the ink was scratched off or something, either whilst it was drying or getting framed. I did that this morning and now have a reply saying they're sending out another canvas and are extremely sorry.

So all in all it's not too bad. Will have to try the £4.99 deal though to see if quality compares. At least with the more expensive places it seesthey have the overhead to re-print if they get it wrong...?

Last night we ordered 2 A3 canvases, and we'll get another if the quality on these are good, I'll have to let you know Zpyds :)

At least they're going to replace it!

Like I said, I've ordered from them before, I had to order something at around 10" x 50" for a pano and I was impressed, I like that they also let you choose the wrap type as well, i.e. black border etc.. and a lot dont!

Here's the pic I got printed in fact:
