Stupid bloody camera!
Continuing from this thread i guess
http://www.tekforums.net/photography/change-of-temp-cam-issue/Had yet more issues with my camera!
Again the 7D with the 100-400 lens, was again out in the cold snapping, this time single shot mode, taking a number of photos in a row no where near as fast at the high speed continuous that I have used in the past it started doing the same thing where the camera freezes and then sort of resets.
Then it started locking up entirely, displaying Err on the top LCD but nothing at all on the main screen, I used to get a message here to tell me what the issue was. Have to pull the battery and reinsert to recover from that, it also shows 2 blocks on the screen when in off indicating 2 images in the buffer, these are never written and lost.
It happened at a very annoying point today when I really wanted to be snapping and I am pretty pissed off with it now.
I thought enough, I'll switch to video mode and record the action, it changed into the live view mode then crapped out doing the same resetting thing. I recreated this behaviour a couple of times.
I'm not sure whats causing the issue here, but it died when not writing to memory.
I wanted to do some further testing at home so left the camera outside to try and keep the conditions the same but i could not recreate the issue.
I have a non canon battery grip and batteries but don't believe this is the issue.
I'd call canon but since the body and lens were from ebay and imported I'm not sure where I stand, I'd probably have to pay for service, since I cant reproduce the fault myself I doubt they could help either.
Just no idea what to do and pretty frustrated with the thing. I think I can only really try to rule things out at this stage by ditching the non canon batteries and pack and see if the issue occurs again, I dont even know if its temperature or use related
