Lake District Revisited.
on: April 25, 2010, 16:08:50 PM
I returned to the Lakes this year. Rather than messing about with Hugin (which doesnt seem to work for me on Win 7 x64) and my SLR, I took the no-mess approach of using my compact tough camera and the automaticness of Photoshop. The quality isnt quite as good as some of the shots last year, but for the easiness of it all, it doesnt seem to have been too bad.

Nice I like the ripply one that looks like youre lying down face first in 6 inches of water. :)

Cheers guys. I like the water ones but because of the ripples I know the merge-seems are pretty obvious!

I like the photos a lot, if only I could do a lot of walking now... :(

The terrain looks very much like a valley carved by a glacier, due to the rounded out shape.

Anyone used snapfish or similar before?

I quite like the idea of getting a poster print or similar of the 2nd photo. Problem is snapfish keeps wanting to crop it to 6x4 resolution. Ive seen a few sites mentioning the ability to letterbox it, but I cant see any such thing!

I use http://www.a2posterprinting.com for any poster prints. Its actually run out of a uni by students but the prices are unbelievable. Might just have to send them a file with white at the top and bottom, either you can cut it down when you get it or you can ask them to do it, im sure they have the kit.

Patching 2 or more photos together and get them printed at a larger size might be worthwhile?

Hmm, good suggestion! I was going to add white space to one, but I guess I could minimise waste with a second photo!
