look what I found going cheap in a charity shop

the aperture was stuck wide open but about 3 hours worth of TLC yesterday afternoon fixed that and now its like new. Typical east German build quality, ie like a tank. Ive been missing a normal perspective fast prime since I went digital and this should fit the bill nicely. As far as I can make out it more than deserves the "Zeiss" badge, takes on my SMC-A 50mm head on for image quality and that takes some doing. Of course F2.4 isnt quite as fast as my F1.7 50mm, but its a lot closer than the F4 of the kit zoom, and sharper to boot.

My old Practika BC1 had an f/1.8 50mm lens and a similar build quality, still a really nice camera even though I dont usually use it.

The f/2.8 throughout the range on my Panasonic FZ20 handles most things except for low light.

Very nice :) Just curious, how much did you pay for it?

I got a gadget bag containing the Flek, a 135mm Sonar, assorted filters, cable release, battered but servicable tripod, and a Practica TL1000 Super with a 50mm F1.8 lens on it all for the princely sum of £25. The only bits Im really interested in are the two zeiss lenses so Ill probably sell the rest on and try to make some of my money back, but even at £25 for the two lenses I figure thats pretty good.
